Editorial Review for Belvedere Hotel – by Gayot.com
The Scene
Two dove-white turrets peek out of lush evergreen, signaling the presence of this Fire Island institution. Looking like a well-preserved Alsatian church, its interiors are adorned with statues of nudes and inlaid marble floors. The guest house caters to men, and during the summer months the rooftop terrace is rife with guests in varying degrees of attire, taking intermittent dips in the outdoor pool or just gazing at the sun setting over the Bay.
The Details
Rooms are equipped with double beds and for the most part private baths. Continental breakfast is served on weekends only. Guests have the option of adding up to three people in a room for an additional $50 per person per night. The guest house is within walking distance of Sayville Ferry. For joggers there is a trail leading to the Sunken Forest National Park.
